Choosing A Cosmetic Dentist

American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Since the ADA (American Dental Association) does not recognize cosmetic dentistry as a specialty, it is hard for a consumer to know how much experience or expertise a dentist has in the arena of cosmetic smile design. One thing to consider is their level of affiliation with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), a worldwide organization dedicated to the education and advancement of cosmetic dentistry. Accreditation with the AACD makes a strong statement, since only about 300 dentists worldwide have achieved this status. Dr. Wells has been an accredited member since 1994, and serves on the review board as an examiner for other dentists seeking their accreditation.
